Approximately once every two years, Blizzard releases a new expansion pack for World of Warcraft. First there was ‘The Burning Crusade’ then there was ‘Wrath of the Lich King.’ Most recently came ‘Cataclysm’ which saw the world torn apart. Now comes a new name to tease the mind, ‘Mists of Pandaria’.

You know i didnt like this intro, i found it to be boring without any compulsion to find out what happens next, previous ones have had arthas about to do mad stuff, or illidan implying your not ready for him, even cata had deathwing who was kinda of implying he’s a bad ass, this intro just seems like ‘oh look, new zones’ which feels more like a content patch as opposed to an expansion. also it was a bit too comical for my liking. I’m wondering if this means wow is gonna start taking a more ‘funsie’ approach on things?

I have to agree. Where the human and orc have realistic skin textures, the Pandaren has fur more akin to a child’s stuffed toy. It’s hard to think of these as serious characters – they’re clearly designed to be marketed and sold as toys. You only have to look at the way the Panda-bears have been animated to get a sense of Blizzard’s intention for this race.
